Introduction
Topics: some background information
Two businessmen from Queensland, each with his own Qld-based NDT company, took control of another NDT company, Austest, that was registered & based in Port Moresby, capital city of Papua New Guinea (PNG)
From the very beginning they failed to follow procedures laid down in the many operation guidelines for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) companies. These guidelines are in the form of International & Australian Standards which – supposedly – must be adhered to ensure the safety compliance of structures, pipelines, mining equipment, & many other industrially manufactured products
Not only did they not follow procedures, but they considered their customers & the people of PNG as imbeciles, not capable of understanding the standards expected of a quality assurance business that relies on the integrity of its members
This statement is valid even before they took control of Austest (& renamed it Pacific Testing Services) as they didn’t even go to PNG to sign the PNG Business Registration Documents; instead, having someone – possibly their business partner – forge their signatures before submitting the documents
How do we know so much about these businessmen, it could have something to do with the filing cabinet, full of documents, that they left behind when they deregistered their PNG based company & ‘did a runner’. They also left behind copious quantities (possibly hundreds of litres) of film development chemicals used in the manual processing of x-ray films; more contempt for the PNG locals. Let’s give you an idea of the level of contempt these men have for procedures
Let’s have a look at some signatures
In particular, the ones on the PNG business registration documents
These businessmen couldn’t be bothered to go to PNG (a 3hr flight away) to sign the PNG business registration documents. Their arrogance is highlighted by the fact they didn’t have the documents sent to them for signing by any express mail service
The real signatures (copied from other docs) are on the LH side - the ones on the RH side (copied from the business registration doc) look like obvious forgeries
